You can submit various steward requests here, such as CheckUser requests, Global Permissions, or Wiki deletions.

Available steward requests[edit | edit source]

Steward Request Types[edit | edit source]

CheckUser requests[edit | edit source]

Welcome to CheckUser requests!
Request a CheckUser investigation into suspected sockpuppetry or abuse of multiple accounts.

This page can be used to request that a Steward conduct a CheckUser investigation into sockpuppetry or abuse of multiple accounts.

Please compile and present any evidence that would help with this and ensure you are reporting abusive behavior. We will not investigate cases of sockpuppetry if the accounts are not being used abusively, or if there is insufficient evidence to support your allegations.

How to Make a Request

To make a request, type the user's main account followed by the main wiki where sockpuppetry has occurred into the box below. (Username@<subdomain>wiki) Another screen will appear asking you for additional information. The following code can also be copied:

== Username@<subdomain>wiki ==
{{CheckUser request
 |status          = <!-- Don't change this line -->
 |user name1      =
 |user name2      =
 |user name3      =
<!-- Up to 10 users -->
 |wiki = <!-- Put the subdomain of the wiki here -->
 |reason = Add your reasons here, including compelling evidence ~~~~
}}

Global[edit | edit source]

Welcome to global (account) requests!
Use this page to request global locks, vanishes, IP blocks, or their removals.

This page can be used to request Account Vanishes, global locks (including self-locks), global IP blocks, or for either of these to be removed. If reporting vandalism-only accounts, make sure they fit the global standard definition for vandalism-only accounts: there must be no or almost no constructive editing behavior, and the disruptive behavior should be occurring on multiple wikis.

Please note: Accounts on WikiOasis cannot be fully deleted! The closest to this is to submit a GDPR request to Trust and Safety. This will lock the account, strip all attached personal data, and anonymize the username. This will not remove edit history.

How to Make a Request

To make a request, type the username of the user you are requesting a global lock, unlock, or rename for into the box below. You will be prompted for more information on the next screen. Alternatively, you can copy the following code and make the request manually.

== <Username of user being locked> ==
{{status}}
*{{LockHide|username1|hidename=1}} <!-- include hidename=1 if you want to hide the username as it's offensive -->
*:Include your reason here ~~~~

If you're including multiple accounts in your report, format it as follows:

== <Username of user being locked> ==
{{status}}
*{{LockHide|username1|hidename=1}} <!-- include hidename=1 if you want to hide the username as it's offensive -->
*:Include your reason here ~~~~

Global unlock for OasisOtis[edit | edit source]

    You have shown a similar pattern of abuse on SkyWiki's test wiki as IllawarraFan and related accounts; I recommend that WikiOasis' Steward team deny this request. Tali64³ (talk) 02:19, 26 February 2025 (UTC)

Wiki deletions[edit | edit source]

Welcome to wiki (un)deletion requests!
Use this page to request the deletion or undeletion of wikis.

This page can be used to request that Stewards undelete a wiki if it was deleted for inactivity (not if it's 'closed' [i.e. uneditable but still online], in which case you must use requests for reopening wikis).

If you wish to have a wiki with multiple active contributors deleted, you must hold a local discussion beforehand, and consensus must be in favor of the wiki closing. If your wiki is a small/personal one where you are the sole contributor, no discussion is needed.

How to Make a Request

To make a request, copy the following code and place it at the very bottom of this page. Replace every section as needed:

== Name of wiki ==
{{SN wiki request
|status = <!-- do not remove this! -->
|request = deletion or undeletion
|wiki    = <!-- subdomain of wiki, such as meta, test, polandball, etc. - don't include .wikioasis.org -->
|reason = <!-- reason --> ~~~~ <!-- leave ~~~~ in place and keep it at the end of your request reason, like "I want it undeleted ~~~~"! it adds your MediaWiki signature automatically so that we can easily know who submitted the request -->
|discussion = <!-- link to discussion, if any (don't fill this field out if not applicable) -->
}}

Restricted setting changes[edit | edit source]

Welcome to restricted wiki setting changes requests!
Use this page to request changes that only Stewards can make.

This page can be used to request that Stewards change a setting that is restricted and cannot be changed by bureaucrats, including the generation of image dumps on Special:DataDump, enabling or disabling extensions that require a Steward to enable them (such as Cargo, Semantic MediaWiki), and Dormancy Policy exemptions.

How to Make a Request

To make a request, type your wiki name into the box below. An additional screen will appear asking you for additional information. The following code can also be copied:

== <Name of wiki> ==
{{SN wiki request
|status = <!-- Do not remove this! -->
|request = Enable <extension> or Change <restricted setting>
|wiki    = <!-- subdomain of wiki -->
|reason = <!-- reason --> ~~~~
|discussion= <!-- link to discussion, if any -->
}}

Wiki reports[edit | edit source]

Welcome to wiki reports!
Use this page to report wikis violating Content Policy or other global rules.

You can use this page to report wikis that are in violation of our global policies, such as the Content Policy. When reporting a wiki, please make sure to describe the violations, link to infringing pages, and any other supporting content to help determine the issue. If the matter is sensitive, please send your report via email to [email protected].

How to Make a Report

Please leave your report at the end of the page, following the format below:

== Wiki Name or URL ==
* Describe the violation here, including links to infringing pages and any relevant details ~~~~ <!-- Leave ~~~~ for your MediaWiki signature -->

Discussion closure[edit | edit source]

Welcome to discussion closure requests!
Request a Steward to close complex or unresolved local discussions.

This page can be used to request a Steward to close a local discussion. This may include local elections on wikis without bureaucrats, discussions on wikis where local bureaucrats also voted, thus needing a third party to close, and discussions where the bureaucrat is inactive or unwilling to close a discussion, etc. Please try to resolve the discussion through local bureaucrats before proceeding here, however.

How to Make a Request

Please leave your report at the end of the page, following the format below:

== Discussion Title ==
* Provide a brief summary of the discussion, including why closure is requested ~~~~ <!-- Leave ~~~~ for your MediaWiki signature -->

Reopening wikis[edit | edit source]

Welcome to wiki reopening requests!
Request a wiki be reopened if it was closed for inactivity or by a bureaucrat.

You may request a closed wiki be reopened (if you are not a bureaucrat) if it was closed due to inactivity or closed manually by a bureaucrat. Please consider the below for what this page cannot support.

  • If the wiki has been deleted: this page should be skipped in favor of making an entry on the Steward requests/Deletions area.
  • If the wiki has been closed manually: any reopening must be discussed with the local administrators or raised here, making the fact that it was closed manually known.
  • If you are already a bureaucrat: Visit Special:ManageWiki on your own wiki and uncheck closed. You will be set from there.
  • If you would like to adopt a wiki including administrator & bureaucrat rights: Please review adoption and make this intent known in your request. For wikis that are not automatically closed, please start a local election.
  • Wikis that are set to private cannot be adopted due to privacy! You must be a registered user to request a reopening.

How to Make a Request

To make a request, copy the following code and place it at the very bottom of this page. Replace every section as needed:

{{subst::Requests_for_reopening_wikis/boilerplate
|wiki = SUBDOMAIN_HERE <!--Replace this with the subdomain of the wiki. Do not include the ".wikioasis.org" part-->
|bureaucrat = <!-- Are you a bureaucrat on the wiki (usually also the 'founder' of the wiki)? IF THE ANSWER IS YES, DO NOT CONTINUE WITH THIS REQUEST! INSTEAD GO TO Special:ManageWiki ON YOUR WIKI AND UNCHECK THE "Closed" BOX -->
|reason =
<!-- Leave everything below as it is -->
|user = {{subst:REVISIONUSER}}
}}
:~~~~

Miscellaneous[edit | edit source]

Welcome to miscellaneous requests!
Use this section for requests that don’t fit any other category.

If your request doesn't fall under any of these categories, you can add your request or question here! Stewards will review it if needed, or your request will be redirected if it is more appropriate somewhere else.

Please leave your request (or feedback, etc. if that's what you'd like to provide) at the end of the page.

How to Make a Request

To submit your miscellaneous request, simply add your message below this line:

== Your Request Here ==
* Include your request, question, or feedback here ~~~~ <!-- Leave ~~~~ at the end for your MediaWiki signature -->
