The team structure at WikiOasis is designed to ensure smooth operation, community engagement, and adherence to policies. Below is an overview of the key teams and their responsibilities:

Executive Team

The Executive Team is responsible for the overall direction and decision-making of WikiOasis. They are tasked with strategic planning, policy creation, and ensuring the site's vision is aligned with the community’s needs.

Members

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the general operations of the wiki.
  • Making high-level decisions about new features and changes.
  • Setting goals and priorities for the site.

Tech Team

The Tech Team ensures that the technical infrastructure of WikiOasis is stable, functional, and up-to-date. They handle everything from fixing bugs to implementing new technical features and maintaining the backend systems

  • Installing and configuring site extensions.
  • Resolving technical issues and bugs.
  • Maintaining and updating the site's technical infrastructure.
  • Ensuring the site’s uptime and overall performance

Stewards

Stewards play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of WikiOasis by ensuring that all community wikis comply with the site’s global policies. They also approve or reject wiki creation and request submissions.

  • Enforcing WikiOasis' global policies across all wikis.
  • Reviewing and approving or rejecting wiki creation requests.
  • Ensuring that wikis adhere to content guidelines, including quality standards and appropriate topics.
  • Mediating conflicts and disputes between wiki communities

Trust and Safety Team

The Trust and Safety Team is responsible for safeguarding the community and site from harmful content and behavior. They address issues related to copyright violations, child exploitation, harassment, and other forms of abuse.

  • Handling reports of copyright infringement, child pornography, harassment, and other safety-related concerns.
  • Ensuring swift and appropriate action is taken in response to serious violations.
  • Maintaining the safety and integrity of the site for all users.

News/Press Team

The News/Press Team is currently unstaffed, but this team will eventually be responsible for keeping the community informed about updates, announcements, and new developments within the WikiOasis project. They will also work on branding and promoting the site to the wider public.

  • Publishing important site announcements and updates.
  • Promoting WikiOasis through social media, press releases, and other channels.
  • Keeping the community informed about ongoing projects and changes.
  • Developing and executing strategies to grow the site’s presence.
