By editing a wiki on WikiOasis, you agree to the licensing terms displayed on that wiki at the time of the edit. By default, wikis have contents licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 License. Wiki administrations can change this on request. Regardless of chosen license, by editing a wiki on WikiOasis or hosting your wiki on WikiOasis, you agree to grant WikiOasis a limited, worldwide license to redistribute the contents of your contributions. However, WikiOasis will respect the privacy of private wikis by not disclosing content to anyone except the wiki's authorized users and if necessary, authorized groups mentioned in the [[Privacy Policy]].

By requesting and using a wiki provided by WikiOasis, you agree to abide by US and international copyright laws. This applies equally to public '''and''' private Wikis.

Under no circumstances are you permitted to submit information to WikiOasis which is illegal to display, distribute, or disseminate in the United States.

All wiki contents shall comply with the [[Content Policy]]. Wikis that violate this policy are subject to suspension, removal, and/or deletion by the discretion of WikiOasis. Inserting malicious links or code anywhere on WikiOasis is strictly prohibited.

Distributing illegal content, attempts to compromise platform security, and actions along these lines may result in immediate sanctions including restricted access to their account (a 'global lock'), termination of services and hosted projects, and as appropriate, referral to law enforcement for further investigation.  

==8. Conduct==

By participating on WikiOasis or in WikiOasis-branded venues in any capacity, you agree to abide by the [[User Conduct Policy]] and any other conduct-applicable policies.

==9. Access Restrictions==

WikiOasis may modify, restrict, or prohibit your access to WikiOasis services and wikis at any time under WikiOasis's sole discretion. Common reasons include:

*Sending enough requests to WikiOasis servers to degrade the service of others;
*Conducting any activity on WikiOasis which is illegal in the United States; or
*Excessive violation of this or other WikiOasis policies.

Wikis hosted by WikiOasis may modify, restrict, or prohibit your access to their respective wikis under their respective policies. 

==10. Hosting==

This section applies to people who administer and operate wikis hosted on the WikiOasis service, or have applied to do so. These people are typically called "bureaucrats", "sysops", or "administrators", but this section refers to anyone who holds any equivalent role on a wiki.

===10a. Providing Service===
WikiOasis may, at its discretion, provide you with a wiki to host content. You agree that these Terms create no obligation to continue service for your wiki. You also understand that donation to WikiOasis does not imply an in-kind contract to provide service. You agree to let authorized WikiOasis personnel access your wiki's content, change your wiki's configuration, and remove or modify content in violation of WikiOasis policy, for the purpose of providing service and subject to our [[Privacy Policy]].

===10b. Extensions and Customization===
As part of your service, you may request that WikiOasis install additional extensions to the MediaWiki software to alter your wiki's functionality. WikiOasis will review the extensions to ensure that they are appropriate for our overall security and will function within our technical limits. WikiOasis is not responsible for any data loss occurring as the result of extensions or software customization requested by users, and you agree not to hold WikiOasis or its agents liable for any damages resulting in the use of these extensions.

Any customization you make to your wiki '''must''' comply with WikiOasis's [[Privacy Policy]]. This includes services such as Google Analytics and any other analytics or behavior-scanning scripts.

===10c. Termination===

If the administrative staff of a wiki wishes to leave WikiOasis and terminate hosting, or if a wiki is removed from service, WikiOasis may provide data dumps of a wiki's content. These content archives will be created and maintained as long as it is legally, financially, or technically feasible to do so, at WikiOasis's discretion. WikiOasis may also permanently delete or suppress wiki content at the request of its administrators. 

Wikis (primarily their operators, administrators etc) are expected to adhere to '''all''' policies hosted by this WikiOasis, and take reasonable steps to review changes which may affect them. These policies are generally given a reasonable review period for constituent wikis to comment on and make their opinions known. WikiOasis may, but is not compelled to offer additional means to stay up to date with these changes. Ultimately it is the responsibility of WikiOasis wikis and users to be aware of policy changes.

==11. Jurisdiction==

Any disputes and complaints between you and WikiOasis will be exclusively resolved in the United States. If you have a problem with us just reach out to us. We're a microscopic flea on the internet and we don't do legal stuff for a living. If your concerns are legal/reasonable we will address them at earliest possible convenience.

==12. Site Terms of Use Modifications==

WikiOasis may revise these terms of use for its platform at any time without prior notice.
