The focus of this wiki is to consider the Marxist theoretical tradition known as 'value-critique' and its criticisms in a single area. Currently various texts and authors and groups, in total, various schools which are a part of this tradition are rather difficult to find; they are dispersed between different countries, groups, languages, etc. There are also many debates and peculiarities among them which often get generalised over, with certain individuals being said to represent the tradition, when in fact there is much more variety than considered previously.
The only positive identity value-critique could be said to have is its critique of traditional/orthodox Marxism and the 'labour-ontology' within it, however even this is a debate within the tradition, since there is questions by certain authors within it of the extent to which others have been capable of doing this. It is obvious that secondary sources which reduce value-criticism to certain figures such as Robert Kurz and Moishe Postone have been insufficient, especially considering how the former figure has even criticised the latter one's viewpoint on the category of labour. Even Wikipedia which is usually (surprisingly) useful on these matters does not fully separate Wertkritik (a German school of value-criticism) from this wider tradition it is a part of.
That is why I believe a wiki of value-critique is necessary, to be a well-sourced and compact area for information on the various schools of thought within this tradition; the wiki format would be well-suited for it since it can allow separate pages for the different groups, and even different categories, which could be manipulated in order to document the myriad of themes that are discussed by this tradition (there are a lot!), or to separate internal critiques of value-criticism from external ones; references would also allow for terms which are rather unfamiliar to the standard reader to be given a clear definition. We could even have a single definition page to link to. The wiki format allows all of this.
I have put the category of this wiki as 'politics' though I was also considering 'education' beforehand. Both seem fitting, but the first one is probably more immediately relevant. I have also selected that 'The main subject(s) of this wiki are living people or real-life groups' though I am unsure if that applies when we are discovering their theoretical perspectives as opposed to their personal information, life events, etc.
