Administrators This page describes the role and responsibilities of Wiki Oasis administrators (sysop), and outlines the procedures for gaining or losing the rights.

Administrators on Wiki Oasis are trusted contributors granted access to advanced tools that support moderation and maintenance. Their duties include removing or restoring pages, protecting content, and managing disruptive behavior through blocks. Admins act as caretakers of the project, ensuring policy compliance and a healthy collaborative environment.

Becoming an Administrator

Interested users can nominate themselves or be nominated by others on Meta:Requests for permissions.

A successful request must meet these criteria:

• Minimum of 5 supporting users
• At least 70% support ratio
• The voting must remain open for 7 days

Once the criteria are met, the request may be closed by a steward or appropriate official.

Removal of Rights

Administrator rights may be revoked under these conditions:

• A revocation request gathers at least 5 supporting votes
• The support ratio is 51% or higher
• The request remains open for 7 days
• The administrator has not used admin tools (such as deletions, protections, or blocks) or made any administrative edits in 3 months.

Inactive admins may be reviewed periodically to ensure the rights are actively maintained.
