Wiki governance

Here at WikiOasis, we recognize two forms of wiki governance: Community and non-community.
Community
editMost wikis, barring the exceptions below, are governed by community consensus. Decisions are made by the community, and a local Bureaucrat (or Steward) decides the outcome of discussions by strength of arguments. This does not exclude appointments to user rights made by Bureaucrats and Administrators, however, we recommend that Administrators and Bureaucrats themselves are appointed by the community.
Non-community
editThere are some exceptions to the principle of community governance, where bureaucrats are wholly responsible for governing the wiki:
- Private personal wikis wholly or substantially about the user who filed the original request
- Public personal e-portfolio
- Curriculum vitae (résumé)
- Blog
- Other narrowly construed wikis with a similar purpose
