Stewards Global Administrators Global Patrollers
Stewards holds the highest software level of access within the WikiOasis community, granting them the authority to utilize any part of the MediaWiki interface across all WikiOasis wikis.
Permissions
Stewards are responsible for enforcing WikiOasis's global policies. In cases of increased requests for assistance, Stewards may delegate certain tasks to other users, such as Global Administrators, to manage routine actions.
Stewards assist wiki communities by addressing local issues such as disputes and disruptive behavior. They have the authority to assign permissions and utilize administrative tools (e.g., blocking, deleting, protecting) to maintain community order. Additionally, they handle global matters, including cross-wiki disruptions, global group assignments, account locks, and renaming.
Stewards serve as global CheckUsers and Suppressors across WikiOasis, as most wikis do not have local CheckUser or Suppressor roles. This allows them to remove content from the view of all non-stewards and access the technical data used by accounts to investigate abuse. They also function as Bureaucrats on Meta.
Current Stewards
Appointment
Stewards can only be appointed through a request or nomination made on Requests for global roles. The request must receive consensus, at least 5 votes, and at least a 66.67% (2/3rds) support ratio.
They must also sign an Non-Disclosure Agreement with the WikiOasis Foundation as Stewards have access to users privately identifiable information and sensitive information as Stewards have access to CheckUser and Suppression/Oversight and naturally is the role requiring the highest trust within the WikiOasis community.
