==Appointment==

Stewards can be ~~elected after~~ a request on ~~the~~ [[~~Meta:~~Requests for ~~permissions|permissions page~~]]. The ~~steward team will discuss the request and, if they deem the candidate could reasonably pass a vote, set up an election via SecurePoll. Discussion will occur on the permissions~~ request, ~~but voting will be done via SecurePoll. The election will last~~ at least ~~a week~~ and ~~will require~~ at least 5 support ~~votes~~ and ~~a support percentage of over 75%~~.

They must also sign an Non-Disclosure Agreement with the WikiOasis Foundation as Stewards have access to users privately identifiable information and sensitive information as Stewards have access to CheckUser and Suppression/Oversight and naturally is the role requiring the highest trust within the WikiOasis community.
