==Appointment==

Stewards can be ~~elected after~~ a request on [[Requests for ~~Stewardship~~]]. At least 5 votes in support and ~~a consensus~~ to ~~elect shall be required~~.

Stewards can only be appointed through a request or nomination made on [[Requests for global roles]]. The request must receive consensus, at least 5 votes, and at least a 66.67% (2/3rds) support ratio.

They must also sign an Non-Disclosure Agreement with the WikiOasis Foundation as Stewards have access to users privately identifiable information and sensitive information as Stewards have access to CheckUser and Suppression/Oversight and naturally is the role requiring the highest trust within the WikiOasis community.
