Jaypedia's goal is to document alternate history as well as real history in an organized, detailed and structured format. A wiki format is ideal for this as it provides an organized method of documentation by allowing:

- Separate pages for countries, wars, characters, timelines, leaders, and significant events.
- A means of easily linking to and accessing information regarding related subjects.

These links allow for easy access to information regarding the subjects of interest, thereby maintaining a structured format rather than a disorganized or scattered assortment of materials.
