Purpose of the wiki: to collect and later make available information on rock music from the 1970s onward, with a particular focus on complex genres (progressive rock, fusion, avant-rock). The primary emphasis is on lesser-known artists and bands from around the world—non-mainstream music from non-mainstream countries that often fails to appear on the radar of many music enthusiasts.

The wiki is intended to be useful for attentive, thoughtful listeners and researchers who are not satisfied with only the first few bands at the top of the charts.

This is a personal project, so at least in the initial period the overall volume of material will not be large.
