Global bans are formal restrictions on people (not user accounts or IP addresses), designed to prevent their access to particular WikiOasis features.
Community/Steward bans
Global bans can be instituted by Stewards or the community when all of the following apply:
- A user is persistently disruptive, preferably globally;
- A simple global lock would not suffice, for reasons that include the fact that a user is established;
- The user is incorrigible, they have been given multiple warnings or blocks for their behavior.
Other types of bans
The Safety Team can institute global bans for Terms of Service or Foundation policy violations. The Technology Team can institute a global ban when it is critical to site infrastructure or security, and Safety does not respond within a reasonable period of time.
