Global Administrators
This page describes the role and responsibilities of Global administrators (
global-sysop), and outlines the procedures for gaining or losing the rights. |

Globals Administrator are a global group that give users the ability to use technical tools such as deleting pages and blocking users on all pages. They assist in vandalism prevention and cleanup, alongside Stewards and Global Patrollers.
Globally
Global Administrators have the technical ability to do the following (not an exhaustive list):
- Protect pages
- Delete and undelete pages, revisions and logged actions
- Block and unblock users
- Edit fully protected pages, and those in the MediaWiki namespace
- Create and manage central notices globally
- Edit the Global title blacklist
Becoming a Global Administrator
Global Administrator is a highly trusted role, giving users the ability to manage certain global functionality, such as central notices and the global title blacklist. In order for a user to become an administrator, they must request it on the Requests for global roles page. For the request to be deemed successful, there needs to be the following:
- At least 5 users vote in the discussion
- At least a 2/3 support ratio
- The request must have been open for at least 14 days
Revocation
In the event that a request for the removal of administrator for a user is opened on the Community portal, for the request to be deemed successful, there needs to be the following:
- A 50% support ratio
- The request has been open for at least 3 days
- At least 3 users vote in the discussion
