2026 WikiOasis Foundation Board of Directors Election

This page outlines the approved process for the WikiOasis Board of Directors election taking place in May 2026. The process was approved by the Board and is being conducted transparently with community involvement.

For the record, a Treasurer position is specifically needed. Community members with relevant experience are strongly encouraged to put their name forward.

Election (SecurePoll)	May 17–24, 2026 (closes May 24, 2026 at 23:59 UTC)	7-day ranked election using SecurePoll. A separate page will be open for community questions to candidates.
Results	After May 24, 2026	Top two candidates by support percentage are automatically elected. Additional candidates may be appointed at the Board's discretion.

Eligibility

Voter Requirements

To vote in this election, your account must meet both of the following criteria as of May 14, 2026:

Account created before May 12, 2026;
More than 20 global edits made before May 12, 2026.

Candidate Requirements

Candidate eligibility mirrors voter eligibility, but has additional legal requirements:

Account created before May 12, 2026;
More than 20 global edits made before May 12, 2026;
Able to sign an NDA with the WikiOasis Foundation;
Eligible to serve on the Board based on the Bylaws;
- Minor candidates must have a parent sign a consent form before submitting their candidacy.

Election Administration

Interested Board members will serve as scrutineers and hold encryption keys.
Uninvolved stewards may assist with scrutineering only if specifically requested by a majority of the Board.

Results & Appointment

The top two candidates by support percentage (>50%) will be automatically elected to the Board. Support percentage is calculated as follows, with abstentions not counted:

Support % = Support ÷ (Support + Oppose) × 100

The Board retains the ability to appoint additional candidates who received a strong support percentage but did not finish in the top two, if deemed appropriate.

Candidates who meet the eligibility requirements may add their name below before May 17, 2026 at 23:59 UTC. It is highly encouraged to attach a statement alongside your name for voters to read. Election volunteers will then create an election page for you, where community members may ask questions or leave comments about your candidacy.
